Northeast Houston AFT PD is ready to help you reach your “Outer limits” in 2019-2020, in our upcoming Boot Camp on 8/10/19 from 9am-1:00pm.  During this “fun and creative” Boot Camp we aim to help you explore new beginning of the year activities. Blast off with Tech Tools to get you organized & encourage student participation. As well as, helping you reach the stars with your ELL students. Northeast Houston Professional Development Team consists of Professional Certified Trainers who offer a variety of PD trainings. Our team of trainers are available to provide Professional Development at our local Northeast Houston AFT office and we are also available to provide training at your campus and/or district facility.  

Team Goal: 
The goal of Northeast Houston AFT Professional Development Team is to provide research based, peer -led professional development that addresses the complexities of teaching and learning.  While improving student achievement, through educators and staff performance and professional growth.

Seeking Teacher Leaders

The AFT Teacher Leaders Program is a union-sponsored program designed to help prepare YOU to be that classroom teacher, facilitating discussion of the issues that affect our profession both here in Channelview, Galena Park and Sheldon ISD and nationally.

Northeast Houston AFT is seeking teachers interested in collaborating with colleagues across the city/district and nation on:

o Increasing an understanding of the major challenges facing the teaching profession

o Improving leadership skills

o Representing our profession as spokespersons

o Becoming members of an influential and supportive network of educators

This program will take place one Saturday per month From September to May.  Modest stipends will be offered.
