One stated goal of schools is to promote critical thinking. Usually, teachers use questioning as the means of attaining this goal. Questions may or may not promote critical thinking—depending on the approach to questioning in the classroom. This session will reframe the use of questions to improve students’ critical thinking skills. Texas teachers are evaluated on their effectiveness to ask a complexity of questions while some researchers say that districts are not using Blooms Taxonomy correctly.
